Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s edition of THAIFEX ANUGA ASIA fair was organised in a hybrid form, thus offering the possibility to participate in the fair in person or via numerous online activities. This allowed to increase the number of participants significantly. According to the information provided by the organiser – this year’s fair gathered 797 exhibitors and 54,000 visitors, including those who participated via the Internet.
Poland was one of just a few countries which decided to organise a national stand at the fair in the current circumstances. On account of the existing travel restrictions, Polish companies presented their offers via the Internet and provided the stand with their promotional materials. The representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bangkok and the Foreign Trade Office of the PAIH, being present at the stand, provided information on the Polish food market and distributed promotional materials of the Polish companies participating in the fair as part of the stand. The visitors had a chance to taste Polish products, including Polish apples. The Polish stand was visited by Mr. Waldemar Dubaniowski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Thailand, who took part in the official opening of the fair.
The Polish stand attracted numerous visitors. The representatives of the Polish institutions in Thailand responsible for the stand received numerous questions concerning Polish products. This shows that the Thai market may offer good prospects for Polish products.
After the end of the fair, from 28 September to 2 October 2020, online B2B meetings will be held as part of the “Virtual Meet Buyer Programme” platform side event, bringing together Polish companies participating in the fair as part of the Polish stand.
