Speciality Food Festival 2018 took place on 30 October-1 November in Dubai. The National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) organized a Polish national stand under slogan ‘Poland tastes good’ once more during the show.

As part of the activities aimed at promoting Polish agri-food products on international markets, the KOWR organized a 60 m2 stand and invited 7 Polish companies to present their offer to potential business partners. The offer included confectionery, fruit and vegetable preparations, healthy food, dairy and grain mill products. Food products from Lublin Voivodeship were also displayed at the stand.

During the first day of the show, Mr Robert Rostek, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the United Arab Emirates, visited the stand to meet representatives of all Polish companies participating in the show.

During the second day a meeting was held with representatives of Dubai Municipality responsible for issues related to licenses and marking of food products. The meeting was organized by Ms Katarzyna Rzeźniczek, First Counsellor in the Polish Embassy and the Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in the UAE.

The KOWR also organized a trade mission as part of the participation in the show. The mission took place on 29 October, and included individual B2B sessions of Polish entrepreneurs and representatives of local companies.

The participants had the chance to get to know the local food offer and prices while participating in the store-check. They visited two Emirati retail chains: Spinneys Umm Suqeim center and LuLu Hypermarket.

Speciality Food Festival 2018 was a great opportunity to establish business contacts and find an alternative outlet for Polish food products. Owing to the cultural diversity and a specific climate that is not conducive to agricultural production, Polish exporters perceive the UAE as a prospective market for Polish food offer.
